The Law Offices of Jason L. McCoy, LLC are located in Vernon, Hartford, Waterbury and New Haven Connecticut.
Attorney McCoy is a civil trial lawyer serving all matters that involve civil litigation. This includes bankruptcy, personal injury claims, and commercial litigation from defective premise actions, inadequate security cases, drug litigation, tractor-trailer wrecks, wrongful death actions, and motor vehicle accidents. He is also known for defending white-collar criminal cases and much more.
Attorney McCoy received a diploma from the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and the Connecticut Bar Association for his completion of intensive professional training in the art and skill of Trial Advocacy. Attorney McCoy is licensed in State and Federal Court in Connecticut.
Education
Attorney McCoy earned his B.A. degree from the University of Connecticut in 1995, and his J.D. degree from Western New England College School of Law in 1998. He was a Visiting Student at University of San Francisco School of Law in 1997-1998.

Presentations
Attorney McCoy has presented nationally to members of the American Association for Justice (formerly Association of Trial Lawyer of America ATLA), “Litigation at Sunrise Program” on inadequate security cases that involved gun shot victims. Attorney McCoy has also presented to the Connecticut Trial Lawyer Association on several occasions on story telling and closing arguments, legal emergencies and handling cases in federal court.
Awards
Mr. McCoy received the American Juris Prudence Award /CALI Award for excellence while at University Of San Francisco for achievement in the areas of Intellectual Property, and Criminal Procedure. He also received the American Juris Prudence Award /CALI Award for excellence while at Western New England Law School of Law for achievement in the area Income Tax.
Public Service
During Jason McCoy’s career in public service he has pushed for governmental accountability, governmental responsibility, and protection of citizens rights and worked hard to foster an environment that increases the choices of the citizens. Attorney McCoy was serving on the Vernon Town Council since 1998 and sponsored and supported many policies that have enhanced the quality of life in the Town of Vernon.
In 2005, Attorney McCoy was reelected to the Vernon Town Council and became the Deputy Mayor of the Town Of Vernon after being unanimously chosen by his Town Council colleagues. Attorney McCoy was elected Mayor of the Town of Vernon in 2007 for a two year term and re-elected in 2009 to a second term which ended n November of 2011. In 2009, McCoy was one of six mayors in Connecticut chosen by Governor M. Jodi Rell to work closely with state officials and lawmakers to identify savings and recommend mandate relief to help close Connecticut’s sate budget shortfall.
Throughout his time on Town Council and as Mayor of the Town of Vernon, Attorney McCoy has fought to keep Rockville General Hospital open, supported the redevelopment plan for downtown, fostered a positive environment to redevelop the abandoned mills, helped to attract federal money for the clean up of the polluted mills and brown fields, and has created ways to increase revenue for the town without increasing taxes. He has worked to control government spending while working to keep the same level of services to the citizens.
